The SUHI Foundation figured prominently in the scholarship awards ceremony held at the community center at Kimball Park. An all star lineup of educators, Sweetwater alumni, parents and students were present. After opening remarks by Principal Roman del Rosario and counselor Armando Melendez, the ceremony got underway. The SUHI Foundation awarded 13 scholarships starting with the Kile Morgan (Sr) Scholarship presented by Kile Morgan, Jr. (Class of 64). Other scholarships awarded:
- Donna Wilcox Morgan Scholarship presented by Kile Morgan, Jr.
- The SUHI Foundation Annual Scholarship presented by John Cherry, Vice President, The SUHI Foundation
- Class of 64 Scholarship presented by Bob Beasley (Class of 64)
- C. Edward Reed Honorary Musician’s Scholarship presented by Richard Ogden (Class of 63) and Christine Ogden (Class of 64)
