Record Scholarship Applications Submitted
Sweetwater High School Counselor, Armando Melendrez, informed The SUHI Foundation that “the Class of 2011 came out in full force this year!” A record number of 168 applications were submitted for the nine scholarship categories that fall under The SUHI and the Morgan Family Foundation umbrellas.
The counseling department notified students using a variety of communication tools including: classroom presentations, e-blasts, announcements on the counseling Twitter account, transmission to each classroom on the school television network, notices on the counseling website (www.suhicounseling.com) and announcements at the counseling center using the old fashioned bulletin board! One of the counseling staff (a SUHI alum) created a Newsletter publishing all of the scholarships available to graduating students.
Here are the results of the counseling departments tremendous effort and marketing!
